Pattern Project - 2023

Form Follows Ritual - 2022

This project delves into the liminal nature of airports and the chapel within. The characteristics of caves informed key design decisions. Approaches used throughout include peaks of light, varying heights and widths, and compression and release.

The final design is a space where wandering minds unknowingly come to experience a sublime environment, that turns the feeling of being lost into a journey of self reflection. Separation of the sublime and the wearisome is created from the clearest path through the chapel - a curve. Thresholds break up the space further into 5 distinct areas.
